Behavior Therapist/Technicians: A Behavior Technician is a trained professional who works under the supervision of a licensed behavior analyst to implement behavior support plans. They provide one-on-one support, teach skill development, collect data on progress, and help individuals reduce challenging behaviors while promoting positive, meaningful outcomes in everyday settings.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT): An RBT is a paraprofessional who practices behavior analysis under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or BCaBA. They implement individualized behavior intervention plans, collect and record data, teach new skills, and support individuals in reducing challenging behaviors while promoting independence and positive outcomes.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA): A BCBA is a licensed professional who designs, oversees, and evaluates behavior intervention programs based on applied behavior analysis (ABA). They assess behavior, develop individualized treatment plans, supervise behavior technicians, analyze data, and collaborate with families and care teams to improve meaningful skills and quality of life.
Direct Support Providers: DSPs are professionals who support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. They assist with activities such as personal care, skill-building, community participation, employment support, and promoting independence, while ensuring the individual’s safety, dignity, and personal goals are respected.
